Richard Long was born in Bristol, England in 1945. He is a sculptor, photographer and painter, but foremost a well‐known land artist. He studied at St. Martins School of Art and Design in London. Through the 1960s he travelled to the Amalfi coast, Italy and experimented with Arte Povera, before he went on to Earth Art at Cornell University in the US. Famously, Long has been awarded with the Turner Prize 4 times, and rejected it in 1984.
